Your child’s first birthday parties!

There is nothing more exciting for a child than going to a birthday party, or better still having his very own birthday party. Your child’s first birthday parties are truly special magical moments for parents and children alike.

The time come for you to plan your child’s party, but how can you be sure that the party is made-to-measure for the children?

Here are some suggestions for safe, fun-filled parties.

Choose the room: whether you live in an apartment or have a huge house, if you have decided to hold your child’s birthday party at home, you need to choose the room (or rooms) for your little guests and their Moms; and remember to shut the doors of all the other rooms to stop kiddies from wandering about.

Remove anything dangerous: when you have small children in the house, it is always a good rule to remove any possible sources of danger. Get edge and corner protectors for the tables and furniture in the party room, seal off stairs and upstairs rooms and keep heat sources and electronic equipment well out of sight.

Birthday presents yes, packaging no: when you open the birthday presents be very careful with the packaging both if you help unwrap the presents or if your child does so on his own. Keep plastic bags and shoppers, ribbons and other small objects well out of the reach of children.

Ask about allergies Before deciding the menu, call the mothers of the children you are inviting to party to make sure that none of your small guests have food allergies. If so, set aside a small section of the buffet for them, on a smaller table or using different coloured bowls.

Get help to supervise the party: depending on the age of the children, get a few other adults to help you supervise the party. You can ask the other Moms and Dads to help you, or hire a babysitter, and for older children (2-3 years) you can get a party entertainer, who will not only control the situation but also keep the kids happily entertained!

If you follow these simple suggestions, the first birthday parties of your child will be absolutely perfect! Plan games, music and a few cartoons for the smaller children, for a wonderful party!
