Gardening with kids

Whether you have a small balcony or a large garden, growing flowers and plants is a relaxing and enjoyable hobby for young and old alike.

Gardening is a great activity to enjoy with your children, because it can be a wonderfully educational too. The garden can be a great place to introduce them to the wonders of the natural world in a way that's fun for the whole family. Have you ever tried to get your children to grow and tend to plants and flowers? Today we want to tell you why you should start getting them to do this right away.

You can help your kids develop a green thumb right from when they are very small, initially under your supervision and then all on their own.

You can get your children to carry out simple gardening activities, under your supervision:

  • Planting seeds or seedlings.
  • Repotting plants.
  • You can get them to help you choose flowers for your balcony/terrace at the nursery
  • You can get them to help you sweep up freshly mown grass.
  • Or water your plants

Gardening also lets your kids spend more time outdoors, away from the TV and electronic devices. Even in the case of toddlers, whose attention span is not too long, even a few minutes spent watering plants, weeding or digging in the mud will help them change their perception of the world around them.

Growing fruit and vegetables with your children is a fabulous way to get kids to eat a variety of their five a day, because they will proud and eager to taste something that have “grown” themselves!

Gardening is also wonderfully educational for your kids. You can teach them the name of plants, insects, how useful things are ... Gardening is a great way to teach your children to love and respect nature and learn about the cycle of life.

Gardening teaches children to appreciate flowers and plants and should start at a very early age.

Children deserve to enjoy the feeling of plunging their hands into soil, potting plants, learning from the land, picking what they have grown and having fun with their parents outdoors.
