Paediatrician and Parents | Feet checked by a specialist
Right from when your baby is born it is important have his feet checked by a specialist who will be able to tell you immediately if posture is incorrect or if there are foot or motor system malformations.
During the first year of life it is also advisable to have a check-up every three months. Once your child starts walking it will be sufficient to take him to your Paediatrician one or twice a year. Only in the case of more serious malformation will you need to consult an Orthopaedic Specialist.

Sometimes in a doctor’s surgery, your child may not feel quite as comfortable as he feels at home, this is why it is important for parents to collaborate actively with the specialist observing the child’s movements in order to identify eventual problems.
Flat feet is one of the most common foot problems. In children up to the age of 3, the foot arch is covered by a fatty pad so that foot support is physiological, but if this condition persists (or, on the contrary, if the foot arch is too curved), you should consult a specialist. It is just as important to consult a paediatrician in the case of walking problems: for example if your child turns his feet inwards or legs tend to form an O or an X when he walks, or if he stumbles often.
At least once a week, parents should also check their children’s shoes to see if the sole is wearing uniformly both on the outside and inside.

Toes should also be checked: bunions or toes that tend to overlap are problems that may be corrected successfully if faced in time.
Ingrown toenails are another common problem and are caused mainly by improper cutting of toenails and squeezing and are aggravated by poor quality, badly transpiring shoes.
Falcotto shoes by Naturino are designed to prevent specific problems and to allow your children’s feet to move freely with all the support they need to grow.
